Yearly Physical Examination & Vaccines
We recommend annual physical exams for your pet! This is to ensure that your pet is receiving the best medical attention available to maintain a long and healthy life. Vaccinations are also very important in keeping your pet healthy. Certain vaccinations are not only important for protecting your pet, but are also required by law (Rabies vaccinations). Our staff can help you determine what vaccinations your pet would most benefit from and set up a schedule to keep your pet on track for proper protection! Dentistry: During your pet's yearly physical examination, we will examine the mouth for any dental issues (gingivitis, tartar, mouth sores, fractured teeth, etc.). We offer dental services such as oral exams, ultrasonic scaling and polishing, extractions and fracture repair. We also carry a full line of dental products for you to use at home to keep your pet's teeth and gums healthy! Feel free to call us at any time to set up an appointment. Diagnostic and Lab Procedures: We offer a variety of in-house laboratory and diagnostic procedures. We can perform radiographs, ultrasonography, EKG, and blood pressure monitoring, as well as a variety of in-house bloodwork, including - but not limited to - heartworm and tick-borne disease testing, fecal floatation, Feline Leukemia & FIV testing, chemistry profiles, complete blood counts (CBC), Thyroid and Cholesterol profiles. We also have access to a veterinary reference laboratory for sending out testing (such as histopathology, cytology, and cultures). Emergency Care: We offer emergency services during normal working hours. If your pet is in need of emergency care after hours, call our main number and you will be given instructions for who to contact, based on the time of day or night you are in need of emergency care. We work with the Animal Emergency and Critical Care in Lynchburg for over night, holiday and weekend emergencies. Surgery Services: We offer a variety of surgical procedures at our clinic. Our veterinarians choose the safest anesthesia protocol for your pet and our trained staff monitors each patient closely during surgical procedures. Patients are not only monitored "hands on" by our trained LVT and trained student technicians, but are also monitored using a machine that monitors heart rate, pulse rate, respiration, temperature, blood pressure and pulse oximetry. Hospitalization: While your pet is in our animal hospital, we provide daily medication, treatments, and meals. Patients are closely monitored while in our care. We encourage you to come see your pet during our visiting hours. Boarding: Everyone needs a vacation! Why not send your pets on vacation too! Each pet has his/her own "room" and we do our best to provide all the comforts of home. Each dog has his/her own run or cage with access to our outdoor exercise yard. Cats will be "feline" fine in their very own kitty condo which are located in our cat room, which is affectionately named "Cheddar's Room". This room was named in the memory of our original mascot "Cheddar" who we lost in 2012. Grooming: Does your pet need a simple cut? In addition to a simple cut and style, each pet leaves our clinic feeling refreshed with a clip, bubble bath, clean ears and a nail trim! Give our office a call today and discuss how we can pamper your pet! Pharmacy: We carry a full line of veterinary prescription medications for your pet, including heartworm prevention. In addition, we also offer a wide variety of flea and tick control products, nutraceuticals, medicated shampoos, and conditioners.
